The Outdoorsy Group announced the Canadian launch of Roamly, marking a major international expansion of its digital insurance technology platform.

As part of the expansion, Roamly acquired Canadian Access, established a new headquarters in Toronto, and appointed Rich Sanders as president. The platform also formed an enterprise partnership with Aviva, reinforcing its presence in the Canadian insurance sector.

Roamly is a software platform that streamlines underwriting, pricing and policy management. The platform incorporates AI-driven capabilities to process actuarial data, support underwriting decisions and improve speed-to-market.

Sanders said that the Canadian expansion is a “pivotal moment” for the company as the general insurance market in the country is projected to reach $143 billion by 2029.

“Our significant growth in Canada, combined with the acquisition of Canadian Access, makes this the right time to establish a headquarters in Toronto,” said Sanders. “This move allows us to better serve our customers and deepen our relationships with Canadian insurance partners.

“With the acquisition of Canadian Access, we can bring our technology to the Canadian insurance ecosystem, offering both our enterprise partners and everyday consumers a seamless, digital-first insurance experience.”

Canadian Access president Adam Beach said the partnership will allow them to better serve customers and insurance companies. Canadian Access is a broker intermediary and technology-enabled niche marketer of personal and commercial lines property.

Roamly plans to develop insurance products tailored to the Canadian market, focusing on home, auto, specialty insurance and mobility marketplaces, including carsharing and RV rental platforms.

Last year, the Outdoorsy Group also unveiled its plans for a European expansion, beginning with partnerships as it looks to reach new geographies via go-to-market strategies.

Roamly also partnered with the National Insurance Inspection Services last year to launch an advanced pre-loss inspection tool for recreational vehicles.
