An open online forum for brokers, insurers and vendor members has just gone live, in the hopes of building awareness and engagement among its members, says CSIO Board vice-chair Ted Harman.

According to Harman, the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) eXchange will provide members with an opportunity to share knowledge on workflow issues to improve efficiencies in the broker channel; gain experience and diverse perspectives from industry peers on current and emerging trends; and develop solutions that bring the industry together to improve the competitiveness of the broker channel.

“With CSIO eXchange, CSIO can build awareness and engagement by providing its members with online forums and discussion groups that promote open dialogue, networking and the exchange of ideas,” said Harman, president of Accent Insurance Solutions and vice-chairman of the CSIO Board. “I look forward to seeing the productive discussions that come out of CSIO eXchange because I’m confident they will generate ideas to improve the overall efficiency of the broker channel.”

CSIO eXchange has launched with one discussion forum – Pain Points – for positive discussions on topics related to workflow and technology pain points within the broker channel. CSIO will introduce dedicated forums for standards and forms working groups in the coming months, and members are encouraged to create new topics in the course of their participation.

CSIO is Canada’s industry association of property and casualty insurers, brokers and software providers, with a mandate to improving the efficiency and competitive position of the broker distribution channel by overseeing the development, implementation and maintenance of technology standards and solutions such as eDocs, Telematics and eSignatures.

In addition, CSIO continues to maintain and operate the industry-owned EDI mail network service, CSIOnet.
