Insurtech disruptor Onlia Holding has launched a new roadside assistance service, which can be accessed through the company’s proprietary app.
The on-demand Onlia Roadside Assistance is accessible on the Onlia Sense safe driving mobile app, but drivers can also call a toll-free number to inquire about the service. Onlia Roadside Assistance offers roadside repair and towing services, without the need for membership fees or sign-up requirements, a release explained. It is available 24/7, with 2,400 trucks on-call to help motorists with their many issues.
The Onlia Sense app, which the roadside service can be accessed from, utilizes nudge theory and behavioural economics to encourage drivers to drive safely on the road. The app was launched at around the same time as Onlia’s digital auto insurance, which allows consumers to purchase auto insurance without the need for paperwork.
“For Onlia, this is another exciting step towards furthering our overall safety mission – reinforcing our commitment to fostering a community intent and making Canada a safer place to live,” explained Onlia chief marketing officer Bonny van Rest in a release.
“We continue to test safety concepts through innovative brand actions and create smart, easy-to-access tools, like the Onlia Roadside Assistance product, that work to change the way Canadians approach the concept of safety and insurance.”
Onlia is a joint venture between Netherlands-based Achmea Canada Holding and Fairfax Financial Holdings.
