NFP has welcomed Alana Lapierre (pictured) as its newest senior vice president, human resources, in Canada.
In the role, Lapierre will lead NFP’s efforts to advance its “people-first culture” by collaborating with business leaders to enhance talent management and employee development, the company said. She will also focus on elevating NFP’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts. Lapierre will report to NFP chief people officer Mary Steed and will serve on the Canadian executive leadership team.
Lapierre joins NFP from ice hockey equipment manufacturer CCM Hockey, where she served as global vice president, people and culture, as well as chief human resources officer. She had also held several human resources and leadership roles for different organizations, such as RSA Canada.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Concordia University and a master’s in psychology from McGill University. Lapierre is also a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council.
“Alana’s deep Canadian roots, diverse business background and bilingual fluency will be a great addition to our leadership team,” said NFP Canada president John Haas. “Throughout the interview process, and with the diversity of her experience, Alana stood out as being an exceptional fit for our culture and our growing business.”
“Alana has extensive experience providing strategic insight to executive teams and creating HR programs to drive engagement and performance,” commented Mary Steed. “She knows how to bring the cultural elements to life that help attract and retain great people.”
“I’m honoured to join a top-tier HR and executive team within an organization that prioritizes culture and inclusion in everything they do,” stated Lapierre. “NFP is already an employer of choice in Canada, and we want to build from this position of strength with a sharp focus on putting people first and creating an attractive culture of belonging and community service.”
