NFP has named Apar Purohit (pictured) as senior vice-president of client solutions in its complex risk solutions group in Canada.
Purohit joins the global insurance broker from Toronto-based commercial claims adjusting firm MGB Claims Consultants, Inc., where he served as executive general adjuster tasked with handling complex claims throughout Western Canada.
He brings more than two decades of experience in risk and integrity management, claims, and engineering in the mining, power, commercial, and natural resources sectors.
Purohit, a professional engineer and Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), will report to complex risks managing director Joe Seeger.
“He’s a talented professional with considerable experience and excellent expertise in the natural resources space, and he immediately enhances our ability to serve the complex needs our clients face,” said Seeger. “We look forward to working with, and learning from, Apar as he integrates with the team.”
Purohit has also held several technical and leadership roles for various companies, including oil and natural gas production firms Penn West Energy (now Obsidian Energy) and Apache Canada Ltd., hydrocarbon exploration services company Husky Energy, and offshore and engineering consultancy services firm Braemar Technical Services, Ltd.
“I’m thrilled to join NFP and contribute to the strong momentum Joe and the complex risk solutions team are driving in Canada,” Purohit said. “I look forward to sharing my experience and expertise, learning from the team and working together to help clients in the mining, power and natural resources industries identify and manage their complex risks.”
