As ARAG moves full speed ahead to build out its place in the Canadian marketplace, you can bet the MGA has some legal expense heavy-hitters on its team.
Graham Martin – Vice President, Underwriting
Graham is one of the most experienced legal expense insurance professionals in Canada, having worked in the sector here since 2009 after underwriting legal protection products on the other side of the Atlantic, for more than a decade.
He was already working in the UK insurance industry when he moved to a role specialising in underwriting legal expenses risks, in 1998. The chance to move to a start-up in what was then a relatively young Canadian market emerged in 2010, and the opportunity was too good for Graham to resist.
He emigrated to Canada and hasn’t looked back, settling in Toronto and starting his young family on this side of the pond.
“Legal protection is a much more mature line of business in the UK, as it is in most of Europe. So, it has been really exciting to help the Canadian market develop from almost nothing, knowing the huge potential it has for the insurance industry here.”
While Graham’s life and career are now firmly rooted in Canada, he still makes time to follow his favourite sports team, London’s Chelsea FC.
Katherine Ferrante - Vice President, Sales & Business Development
Katherine was an established legal expense insurance expert when she joined ARAG in 2017, having spent more than seven years working to promote ‘access to justice’ to brokers and insurers, managing sales and business development in Eastern Canada.
Prior to she worked as Principal Broker managing insurance brokerages in Western Canada, and software development specific to the P&C insurance industry. During this time Katherine is proud to have served in various chairs on the Board of Directors of the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba.
