McDougall Insurance Brokers has merged with the Barrie-based Dusome Insurance Brokers.
Serving clients in Central Ontario, Dusome Insurance currently has 11 employees. By acquiring Dusome, McDougall now has 34 offices throughout eastern Ontario, Ottawa Valley, and Central Ontario, with 380 employees and over $300 million in P&C premium.
Following the transaction, all Dusome Insurance employees will remain with the organization; they will also continue to work at their current location in Barrie. Dusome’s management team – which includes Glenn and Wayne Dusome – will also continue with the organization.
“This is a way to strengthen our future as an insurance brokerage in Barrie,” said Dusome Insurance president Glenn Dusome.
“As independent insurance brokers, Dusome Insurance and McDougall Insurance share the same core values. We care about our clients, employees and are active within our communities,” Dusome added. “With this merger, we now have a better ability to service customers and provide insurance solutions previously not available.”
