Liberty Mutual Insurance has expanded its M&A practice, Liberty Global Transaction Solutions (Liberty GTS), into Canada.
In addition to launching the practice, Jonah Goldberg has been hired to serve as production counsel for the team. Goldberg is the first Canadian-based member of Liberty GTS, a release said.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer Canadian clients and brokers access to Liberty’s global M&A expertise and capabilities,” said Liberty Mutual Canada president Garth Pepper in a statement. “As part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, Liberty Mutual Canada has access to a wealth of commercial and specialty insurance solutions for mid-size and large companies.”
Pepper added that the expansion of Liberty GTS into Canada is the company’s latest effort to show how it is bringing the best it has to offer to the Canadian marketplace.
Liberty GTS president Rowan Bamford commented in another statement that there is a growing demand for M&A transaction insurance in Canada, and that Liberty’s appointment of Goldberg demonstrates the company’s commitment to “providing exceptional service to our broker and client partners on a local level.”
Liberty GTS’s products include representations & warranties, tax liability insurance, and contingent risk insurance.
