Johnston Group, a full-service third party administrator, has formed a partnership with online pharmacy PocketPills.
Through the partnership, Johnston Group will provide plan members access to PocketPills’ digital pharmacy experience, which has been integrated into Johnston Group’s suite of telehealth solutions. Johnston Group manages Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan – one of the largest employee benefits plans in Canada for small to midsize companies.
In addition to access to an online pharmacy, Chambers Plan businesses will also receive an additional 10% prescription drug coinsurance for their members at no additional cost as part of the deal.
“Johnston Group is always looking for the newest cutting-edge virtual solutions in the market to support Canadian businesses, and PocketPills delivers with its digital pharmacy services,” said Johnston Group president Dave Angus. “With this partnership, Chambers Plan continues to provide members truly flexible, high-quality benefit solutions in an ever-growing virtual world.”
“We continue to work with market leaders like Johnston Group to provide digital pharmacy solutions to members, while providing additional coverage and savings to plan sponsors,” added PocketPills co-founder and CRO Harj Samra. “Virtual pharmacy will play a big part in virtual healthcare as it expands, just like our trusted community pharmacists do today. We are thrilled to be the online pharmacy for the individuals Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan insures.”
Plan members can access PocketPills by sharing their insurance information through Johnston Group’s “my-benefits” app.
PocketPills had previously collaborated with other group benefits providers last year. The company connected with Benefits by Design, a customized group insurance plans provider and benefits administrator.
The digital pharmacy also collaborated with Green Shield Canada to help improve patient access to care.
