Intact Insurance has vowed to maintain its “bullish commitment” to the broker distribution channel in Canada.

The country’s largest home, auto and business insurance company has once again pledged Full Partner support for The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC)’s Broker Identity Program (BIP). By investing in the BIP campaign, Intact endorses the insurance broker distribution network and embraces the value brokers bring to clients in the shape of: choice, expert advice, security and ultimate peace of mind.

“Insurance is and always has been a people business. That’s why we’re proud supporters of the broker distribution channel and pleased to maintain our full partnership with the BIP campaign,” said Debbie Coull-Cicchini, executive vice president at Intact Insurance. “At Intact, we’ve been very bullish in our support for brokers over the years.

“We do business with more than 2,000 insurance brokers across Canada. We rely on them for the essential role they play in building valuable relationships with consumers and delivering exceptional customer experience. This is a very exciting time for insurance worldwide because we’re facing unprecedented changes with regards to technology and consumer expectations. Brokers have the knowledge and expertise to meet those evolving customer needs.”

Intact’s support for the broker channel goes beyond just words. The insurer has invested time and money into the development of innovative digital products and platforms to assist brokers through the tides of change.

Last fall, the company launched Client Centre, which provides brokers and consumers with easy, secure, online access to Intact Insurance policy documents, billing statements and claims information. It’s available 24/7 and can be accessed from any device with an Internet connection.

“Consumers are expecting simplicity, convenience and on-demand services. We introduced Client Centre to meet those needs, while also improving our service to brokers,” Coull-Cicchini told Insurance Business. “We’re also rolling out changes to our policy administration platforms in both personal and commercial lines to help brokers with their daily business.

“Another advantage we offer the broker channel is our usage-based insurance (UBI) My Driving Discount program, which includes an enrollment discount and the opportunity for customers to save up to 25% on their policy renewal. We will be merging our UBI application with Client Centre in the very near future to make the customer and broker experiences as smooth as possible.”
