Insurer partners with animal protection advocate to offer pet health insurance

Petline Insurance has announced a collaboration with an animal protection advocate to provide would-be guardians of adopted pets with a specialized pet insurance product.

The Nova Scotia SPCA Pet Health Insurance will be made available to those who adopt a pet through Nova Scotia SPCA. Pet adopters can enjoy an initial eight-week free trial period of insurance coverage before signing up for a full plan.

The product will provide coverage for general claims, boarding kennel fees, hospitalization, medication, exam fees, taxes, holiday cancellation, cremation and burial, as well as dental care for pets.

“Partnering with Petline to create this product better ensures the continued good health of the pets after they leave the care of the SPCA,” Nova Scotia SPCA CEO Elizabeth Murphy. “Support the SPCA and homeless, abandoned, injured animals by purchasing the new Nova Scotia SPCA Pet Health Insurance.”
