The Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC) and the CIP Society have opened nominations for the 2025 CIP Society National Leadership Awards, which recognize the achievements of leaders in Canada’s insurance industry.
Award recipients will be announced in the late fall and inducted into the CIP Society Leadership Circle. The deadline for nominations is June 30 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Insurance professionals across Canada are invited to nominate colleagues in two categories: Emerging Leader and Established Leader. Nominations from all regions of Canada are encouraged.
“Since 2009, the National Leadership Awards have recognized insurance leaders who demonstrate their passion for our business and are paying forward the knowledge they’ve acquired through their CIP and FCIP designations and careers to make an impact in their organizations and communities,” said Peter Hohman, president and chief executive officer of The Insurance Institute of Canada.
“We’re looking forward to learning more about this year’s new group of nominees as the 2025 awards process begins,” Hohman added.
Nominations for the 2025 National Leadership Awards can be submitted through the Insurance Institute of Canada’s website.
To qualify, nominees must hold either a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), or Honorary Chartered Insurance Professional (HCIP) designation, and must be a CIP Society member in good standing. Nominators do not need to be CIP Society members, but they are responsible for demonstrating the merits of their nominees.
Applications will be reviewed by a judging panel made up of CIP Society members from the four regions: Western, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic. Up to 10 individuals can be recognized annually.
Following the announcement of the honorees in the fall, presentations will be made between November and March.
The IIC is the premier professional education body for the P&C insurance industry. It sets professional standards for the industry through educational programs, leading to a range of designations such as CIP and FCIP.
