Chubb, the world’s largest publicly traded property-casualty insurance company, has announced the appointment of Adam Mason (pictured above) as executive vice president of casualty for Overseas General Insurance, the company’s general insurance operations.
Mason currently serves as deputy head of casualty for Overseas General Insurance. In his new role, he will be responsible for the growth and profitability of the company’s casualty lines in 51 countries and territories outside North America.
Mason has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to serving as deputy head of casualty for Overseas General Insurance, he served as chief underwriting officer for casualty. Mason joined Chubb (then named ACE) in 2002, and worked in the UK and Ireland for the multinational retail and international wholesale casualty underwriting teams. Mason joined the company’s casualty business in 2011. Prior to joining Chubb, Mason served as an assistant underwriter at Independent Insurance and a casualty underwriter at CNA.
Mason will continue to report to Mark Homan, who was recently promoted to division president, international property and casualty, for Overseas General Insurance. Both appointments are effective June 1, Chubb said.
“Over two decades at Chubb, Adam has built a strong reputation as a technical underwriter and experienced multinational executive,” Homan said. “As deputy head and chief underwriting officer for our international casualty business, Adam has been instrumental in driving the growth and profitability of our portfolio across all regions. We’re pleased to welcome this experienced leader and manager to this important role.”
Chubb also recently announced the appointment of Frances O’Brien as chief risk officer.
