Most people with their finger on the pulse of Ontario’s insurance brokerage market will know of Brett Boadway (pictured) because of her hard work and visibility as director of operations at the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO). But as of September 02, the director will have a new title at the association. The IBAO announced Friday (August 30) that Boadway has been promoted to the position of chief operating officer, effective September 02.
“Brett has made a significant impact on the current trajectory of the IBAO—it’s fitting that she be recognized through this promotion to chief operating officer,” said Colin Simpson, IBAO’s chief executive officer.
In this newly created role, Boadway will build on her role as director of operations (which she has held for the past six years) and will be responsible for effectively running the IBAO’s operations and implementing practices and procedures that increase member value and engagement. In a notification about Boadway’s promotion, the association said: “her commitment to the broker channel and IBAO Member community has led to progressive change including the modernization of the association’s core functions.”
“The creation of the COO role is timely as we move into our next strategic planning cycle, continue to enhance our member value proposition and ensure that the IBAO has a robust succession plan for consistency of delivery to our membership,” Simpson added. “Alongside our Board of Directors, I very much look forward to Brett’s contribution in leading IBAO’s continued growth and shaping its future direction.”
