The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) has announced the continued support of its Broker Identity Program (BIP) by Travelers Canada and Sandbox Mutual Insurance, with both companies renewing their commitment as full partners.
The partnerships will help sustain the national advertising campaign that promotes the vital role insurance brokers play in providing clients with choice, advice, and advocacy.
Through their investments, Travelers and Sandbox will also contribute to several key IBAC initiatives. These include advancements in technology leadership, ongoing professional development for the broker workforce, and federal advocacy efforts aimed at preserving the separation of banking and insurance, which is seen as crucial for consumer protection.
Heather Masterson, president and chief executive of Travelers Canada, emphasized the significance of brokers in the sector: “Brokers serve a critical role in our industry, not only as an invaluable part of our business but also in providing counsel to our customers.
“We are committed to raising awareness of the important service brokers bring to the table, and we’re proud to continue supporting the Broker Identity Program at ‘full partner’ level.”
Echoing this sentiment, Sandbox president and CEO Shelley Willick expressed her company’s appreciation for brokers: “At Sandbox, we recognize that brokers play a crucial role beyond just selling insurance. They are trusted advisors who guide clients through the complexities of insurance with their expertise and personalized advice.
“We deeply appreciate and honour the vital contributions brokers make to the industry and the invaluable support they offer to policyholders.”
IBAC CEO Peter Braid (pictured) commented: “Travelers’ prominence in the Canadian insurance marketplace reflects their commitment to customer service excellence. This renewed investment demonstrates their strong support for the broker channel as the best way to provide security and peace of mind for insurance consumers. We greatly appreciate their continued support.”
He also welcomed Sandbox’s decision to remain a full partner, adding: “We appreciate their commitment to serving consumers exclusively through brokers, which clearly demonstrates their customer-first approach and their strong support for the insurance broker profession.”
