The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC), which represents over 38,000 insurance brokers across Canada, has today announced its executive officers and board of directors for 2020-2021.
There will be no changes to IBAC’s executive officers this year. It was decided at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on September 23, that the current team of executive officers will keep their positions for another year in order to provide “stability and continuity” in IBAC’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those retaining their executive officer positions are: Chris Floyd – chair, Kent Rowe – president, Robyn Young – president elect, Linda Dolan – vice president, and Julia Marshall – vice president.
They will be joined by some new faces on IBAC’s board of directors for 2020-2021. The following individuals were appointed at the AGM:
Aly Kanji (British Columbia)
Paul VanderHooft (Alberta)
Dave Pettigrew (Saskatchewan)
Mario Reimer (Manitoba)
Jeff Gatcke (Ontario)
Karen Ritchie (Toronto)
Mathieu Brunet (Quebec)
Robert E. Kimball (New Brunswick)
Darren Lipsett (Nova Scotia)
David Cooke (Prince Edward Island)
Kelly Hickman (Newfoundland & Labrador)
IBAC CEO, Peter Braid, commented: “IBAC’s executive and board of directors are dedicated individuals from across the country who bring their knowledge, experience and insight to the national table. Throughout the challenges of the pandemic, they have provided strong leadership with a focus on supporting brokers and advocating for insurance consumers. I look forward to working with all returning and new board members to ensure IBAC remains effective and resilient as we emerge from this crisis.”
