iA Financial Group has unveiled the winners of its national philanthropic contest, which is now in its third year.
First announced in September, iA Financial revealed its 10 finalist charities in November. Canadians were called to vote for one of the 10, with the top charity organization winning $125,000.
Le Phare Enfants et Familles in Montreal is the grand prize winner of the contest, and will receive a donation of $125,000. In addition to the grand prize, the organization also won the iA Financial Group Employee Favourite award, and will receive another donation of $25,000 for a total of $150,000.
Association pour l’intégration sociale de Québec in Quebec City and the Centre d’aide aux proches aidants des Basques in Trois-Pistoles came in second and third place, respectively. They will each receive a $50,000 donation.
According to a company release, the voting results for the third and fourth places were so close, that iA Financial Group awarded an additional donation of $50,000 to the Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity in Uxbridge, Ontario.
“Many people from all across Canada voted for the projects and the organizations they found the most inspiring, and it ended up being a very close race. Thank you to the many Canadian organizations who participated,” said iA Financial Group president and CEO Denis Ricard.
