iA Financial Group has appointed Lilia Sham to the position of executive vice-president of corporate development.
Sham’s appointment takes effect on May 02, 2019, a release said. She will report directly to iA Financial president and CEO Denis Ricard.
As part of her appointment, Sham also becomes a member of the company’s planning committee, which is chaired by Ricard.
Sham joins from Intact Financial, where she served as senior vice-president of corporate development for 13 years. She has also held a number of management positions with other financial organizations in both Canada and the US, with broad experience in mergers and acquisitions in the North America, Latin America, and Asia regions.
She earned her master’s degree in science from Rutgers University, in New Jersey, and is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).
