A global Internet of Things (IoT) company and an international insurance brokerage are working together to create an innovative transportation risk management service for the latter’s commercial fleet clients.
IoT company Fleet Complete announced yesterday its partnership with
HUB International to produce a unique dashboard function for HUB’s commercial transportation fleet clients to use. The dashboard will allow fleet operators to easily monitor and assess driver behavior—”a significant factor affecting insurance costs and claims involving vehicle crashes,” a release noted.
More specifically, the dashboard will provide fleet operators with a view of their drivers’ on-road conduct and habits. Such conduct and habits to be monitored include harsh braking, rapid acceleration, and excessive speeding—all key safety risk indicators that severely affect insurance premiums and claims. Data gathered by the dashboard is seamlessly shared with HUB for the insurer to evaluate risk and liabilities. The dashboard system includes communication, vehicle diagnostics, electronic logging capabilities, traditional vehicle tracking and safe driving data communications.
“We have been helping businesses run more efficient fleet operations for over 16 years,” said Fleet Complete CEO Tony Lourakis. “Partnering with Hub International, an expert in building comprehensive insurance and risk solutions for the transportation industry, makes a lot of sense for the value we can bring to our customers.”
“HUB clients can now seamlessly share their data with our safety and insurance professionals so that we can work closely and quickly to identify fleet safety trends and at-risk drivers,” said HUB Risk Vice-President – Transportation Practice Leader Steven Bojan.
