HUB International has appointed Mark Dutton (pictured) as president of HUB Canada West, overseeing operations within British Columbia.
Dutton will be responsible for driving the regional strategy and fostering the company’s growth across the western Canadian market.
David Moon, president of HUB Western Canada, expressed enthusiasm about Dutton’s appointment. “We are excited to welcome Mark to HUB. Mark will play an integral role in elevating our brand and driving innovation and growth in the region to further elevate our ability to deliver exceptional value to clients and become a valuable resource for our team,” Moon said.
Dutton brings extensive leadership experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Canada’s largest niche managing general agent (MGA) in the vehicle replacement sector. In that capacity, he led initiatives to deliver insurance products through dealerships and brokerage networks, the news release noted.
Prior to that, Dutton held senior roles in one of Canada’s largest insurance brokerages, where he was responsible for national insurance operations and managed property and casualty technical services.
Dutton expressed his excitement about joining HUB, stating, “I am honoured to be a part of the HUB team and look forward to contributing to the company’s growth and success. I am eager to bring my skills and passion to help drive our shared vision into the future.”
In October, Hub International appointed Tim DeSett as its new North American commercial lines president. In this role, DeSett will lead the company’s commercial lines segment, which generates nearly 50% of its total revenue. His focus will be on driving growth through industry specialties, product lines, complex risk, and middle-market businesses.
DeSett brings over 30 years of experience, having previously served as executive vice president at Lockton and in leadership roles at AIG.
