HUB International, which in September announced the internal appointment of Marc Chouinard as national agribusiness specialty practice leader for Canada, has given its agribusiness capabilities a further boost by acquiring Global Ag Risk Solutions in Saskatchewan.

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, includes Global Ag Weather Solutions. It will expand HUB’s reach in agricultural risk management and strengthen the brokerage’s suite of offerings to support the farming sector. Moving forward, Global Ag Risk Solutions will be known as Global Ag Risk Solutions, a HUB International company.

Based in Moose Jaw, Global Ag Risk Solutions specializes in providing comprehensive farm insurance offerings, including advanced parametric insurance products and weather modelling technologies that help agribusinesses manage crop and profit risks.

“We are excited to welcome the Global Ag Risk Solutions team to HUB,” stated HUB Prairies president Ryan Matthews. “They will elevate our expertise and offerings in the region, providing clients with the support they look for as they go into each farming season.”

Following the acquisition, Global Ag Risk Solutions executive vice presidents Dave Sullivan and Damon Johnson will join HUB’s regional team in the Prairies. Sullivan will report to Greg Johnson, HUB Prairies chief strategy officer.

“We look forward to starting our journey with HUB,” Sullivan commented, highlighting the value of HUB’s extensive resources and strong reputation as essential assets for continued growth and client support in the agribusiness market.
