Green Shield Canada (GSC) will be providing its group and post-secondary student plan members free access to telemedicine services.
The company is offering plan members access to virtual healthcare services provided by Maple. The free offer is for a three-month period. GSC first partnered with Maple last year to offer telemedicine as an optional product to plan members.
Maple’s bilingual platform can connect plan members with a Canadian-licenced physician online within minutes – whether through instant message, video, or audio call. This access is available seven days a week, between 7 a.m. and midnight local time in all provinces and territories.
Plan members can receive medical advice, prescriptions, lab requisitions, and more. A release said that the free access incudes up to four physician consultations per household. With direction from the patient, prescriptions arranged through Maple can be delivered (outside Quebec) through PocketPills – a digital pharmacy that GSC has partnered with.
