CSIO has announced that Gore Mutual Insurance Company has received its eDocs Certification, confirming that the insurer’s electronic document transmissions meet updated industry standards.
The certification enables Gore Mutual to send standardized codes and descriptions to Broker Management Systems (BMS), aligning with efforts to support more consistent broker workflows.
The revised eDocs Standards are designed to improve the clarity of electronic documents shared between insurers and brokers. According to CSIO, all BMS vendors have implemented these updated standards, allowing brokers working with Gore Mutual to receive clearly labelled documents through their systems. This development is intended to support day-to-day operational efficiency.
“Our commitment to being a purpose-driven insurer involves empowering brokers to build strong relationships with their customers,” said Shane Mannion, vice president, Engineering at Gore Mutual. “Achieving eDocs Certification highlights the value of investing in robust, industry-recognized Standards to advance broker efficiency for the long term.”
“Gore Mutual’s eDocs Certification is a significant accomplishment for increasing broker productivity and streamlining eDocs delivery,” said Kathryn Sinclair, interim president, CSIO. “This reinforces Gore’s leadership role in transforming insurance operations for the benefit of insurers, vendors, brokers and their customers.”
In addition to eDocs Certification, Gore Mutual has also recently achieved CSIO’s API Security Standards Certification. The insurer adopted CSIO’s Application Programming Interface (API) Security Standards, which outline industry guidelines for secure authentication and authorization processes.
These standards are intended to safeguard customer data transmitted between BMS platforms and insurer systems.
The API Security Standards were developed by CSIO’s INNOTECH Advisory Committee and its API Security Standards Working Group. The committee, composed of industry representatives, reviews the standards annually to align with evolving security practices.
