Gifford Carr Insurance Group has opened a new branch location in Sudbury, ON. The new office opens less than one year after the broking group launched another office in North Bay, ON. Gifford Carr said in a company release that the Northern Ontario region is “poised for growth,” which is why it has installed a new team in the area.
Gifford Carr’s Sudbury office is run by a local team of insurance professionals, including Lorna Courchesne, who is the leader of the personal lines practice with more than 30 years of industry experience. She is joined by Robyn Baronette, CAIB an industry veteran with over 16 years of expertise and customer service experience, who will support Gifford Carr’s commercial lines clients in Northern Ontario.
“We are building something special in the North,” said Gifford Carr Insurance Group president Matthew Carr, CIP. “With all the consolidation in Sudbury we see an opportunity to establish relationships and be a valuable advisor for our clients.”

Earlier this month, Gifford Carr appointed Matthew Leishman as branch manager of its Burlington office. Before joining Gifford Carr in 2017, Leishman served as an insurance advisor with BrokerLink for over three years. He was also previously associated with Pentagon-Raymond Insurance Brokers.
