Manulife has revealed that Rona Ambrose has resigned from the company’s board of directors.
Ambrose’s resignation is effective August 31, 2020.
According to a release from the company, Ambrose resigned from her board role to accept a full-time employment position.
“Rona’s experience and perspective have been of great value to the board during her tenure,” said Manulife chairman of the board John Cassaday. “We appreciate her advice and counsel over the past three years and wish her only the best in the future.”
Manulife’s release does not disclose any details about Ambrose’s new job, nor does it mention the company she will be joining.
Ambrose is the former leader of Canada’s official opposition in the House of Commons. She had also served as an MP for Sturgeon River – Parkland; a role she held for 13 years.
She continues to serve as the co-chair of the Max Bell School of Public Policy, as a member on the advisory council on NAFTA, as an advisory council member for the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, and a member of the board of directors at TransAlta.
