A former Economical Insurance executive has signed on to join the staff of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA).

Rocco Neglia – who has been the vice-president of claims for Economical Insurance for the past 13 years – joins AIA as business development head, leading the non-profit’s efforts for the Canadian Collision Industry Accreditation Program (CCIAP).

Neglia has more than three decades of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. Aside from his previous work with Economical, he has served on various committees of the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Neglia has also served as chairman of the Conestoga chapter of the Insurance Institute of Ontario and as governor of the Insurance Institute of Canada.

“We are very confident that Mr. Neglia will deliver further growth for CCIAP,” said AIA president Jean-François Champagne in a statement. “He is a strong addition and we welcome him to our team. I am convinced that his strong insurance industry knowledge, broad expertise, and network will make him and the program extremely successful.”

“I am thrilled to join the AIA Canada team,” commented Neglia. “I look forward to the new opportunities and growth that I can bring to the program and to AIA Canada’s stakeholders.”

When AIA first launched the CCIAP in 2016, it was Economical Insurance that was the first insurer to endorse the program. The accreditation program set new standards for collision shop training, equipment, and procedures.
