First Onsite Property Restoration has announced two significant leadership changes: the appointment of Asima Zahid (pictured) as senior vice president, National Brokers and Lloyd’s Portfolio, and the promotion of Barry J. Ross (pictured) to a global business development role.

According to a company statement, these moves are part of the company’s efforts to expand its footprint and network in the North American region.

Zahid brings a wealth of expertise to her new role, having worked in the insurance sector for over 20 years. According to a news release, she previously held a leadership position at Sompo, where she led business development and distribution strategies.

Zahid has also worked with several prominent Canadian insurance companies, including Lloyd’s, Aviva, and TD Insurance. Throughout her career, she has advocated for diversity and inclusion, notably serving on the Dive In board for seven years and participating in panel discussions at the Women in Insurance Conference.

In addition, Zahid has earned recognition for her contributions to the insurance field, including being named to Insurance Business Magazine’s Elite Women 2023 and as one of the Global 100 professionals in the insurance industry in 2022.

“Asima’s dedication and expertise in nurturing strong insurance industry partnerships aligns perfectly with First Onsite’s commitment to being resourceful and solution-oriented for its customers and insurance partners,” said Dave Demos, CEO of First Onsite Canada and Global Client Solutions. “Her experience and passion for client-focused growth make her a great asset as we continue to expand our presence and impact across North America.”

Zahid’s appointment was also praised by Ross, executive vice president, National Brokers and Lloyd’s Portfolio, who emphasized her track record in distribution strategy and portfolio management. “We welcome and are enthusiastic about Asima joining First Onsite. We look forward to working with her and the contributions she will make to the business,” Ross said.

Meanwhile, Ross, who has led the company’s Quebec region since 2007, has transitioned into the role of executive vice president, National Brokers and Lloyd’s Portfolio. In this new role, Ross will focus on expanding First Onsite’s book of business as well as strengthening relationships with national brokers and the Lloyd’s market.

“Barry is a key connection and has a longstanding relationship with the Lloyd’s business. [His] focus on client solutions will ensure we are listening and adapting in the best way possible for our partners and clients,” Demos said. “We look forward to this new chapter for Barry and for his complete dedication to deepening First Onsite’s relationships with our important client and partner groups.”
