Payment solutions provider FIRST Insurance Funding of Canada (FIRST Canada) has appointed Ian McMahon (pictured) as senior relationship manager for Ontario.
Joining the Ontario sales team, McMahon will leverage his extensive background in premium financing and sales to deliver cutting-edge payment solutions to brokers.
With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry – encompassing roles in premium financing, carrier operations, and financial services – McMahon will aim to enhance FIRST Canada’s value proposition and relationships with brokers.
The key hire’s broad expertise includes in-depth knowledge of insurance products, sales, management, and premium financing, making him a valuable addition to FIRST Canada. He holds a Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario license and has participated in several management programs throughout his career.
FIRST Canada chief sales officer David Caringi commented on the appointment: “We are thrilled to have Ian join our team. His extensive experience in sales leadership, combined with his deep understanding of the Canadian insurance landscape, will be invaluable as we continue to expand our market presence and deliver exceptional results for our broker partners.”
McMahon said: “I am honoured to join the FIRST Canada team and contribute to the company’s ongoing success. I look forward to working with the talented team and to further strengthen our relationships with broker partners and deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
Earlier this year, the company added Susanna Fraser-Kuipers to its senior leadership team. Appointed as assistant vice president for product strategy and customer success, Fraser-Kuipers joined FIRST Canada to lead the product management and customer success teams.
Stuart Bruce, chair and chief executive of FIRST Canada, said: “We are committed to continuously investing in technology to support the evolving needs of our broker partners. We welcome Susanna to our team and are confident that her leadership and systems thinking will fortify our position as the innovator in payment solutions.”
