Everest Insurance Company of Canada is getting a new CEO. Everest Re Group announced on Wednesday that Darin Scanzano will take the helm at its Canadian insurance unit later this summer.
Scanzano will be based in the company’s Toronto office and will report to David Sandler, head of the Everest Insurance Risk Management Group. He joins Everest from AXIS Capital in Toronto, where he held the role of executive vice president and chief agent, and was responsible for all Canadian insurance operations, including underwriting, claims, and finance. He also served as a senior member of Axis’s Executive Management Group for North America.
“We’re excited to have Darin join as CEO of Everest Insurance Company of Canada,” Sandler commented. “His depth of experience in the Canadian market, and deep trading relationships developed over his 30-year career in the industry, will help us to continue expanding our Canadian insurance operation.”
