CRU Group has appointed Catherine Sutton as vice president for the US Southwest region as part of its ongoing expansion in the United States.
In her new role, Sutton will oversee business development and client relations in the region while also serving on the company’s US leadership team. She will be responsible for strengthening the company’s brand presence and contributing to key strategic initiatives.

Sutton brings a background in engineering and extensive experience in insurance adjusting, forensic engineering and account management. She has handled personal and commercial lines claims as an adjuster. In business development, she has worked as a regional account manager, focusing on revenue growth, and as a regional business development manager, where she expanded relationships with insurers, brokers, and managing general agents (MGAs).

Based in Austin, Sutton will report to Tim Lalaian, senior vice president of US Business Development.
Her appointment follows CRU GROUP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership team in North America. In 2022, the company named Michelle Short as claims technical manager for its Canadian team.
Based in Calgary, Short was tasked with providing mentorship on client-specific claims processes and technical requirements. She brought more than 20 years of experience in claims and people management, having previously served as Vice President of Operations, overseeing adjusting teams and administrative staff in Alberta.
CRU Group has continued to expand its presence across North America, appointing experienced industry professionals to support its growth strategy.
