Crawford & Company has appointed Jason Spencer (pictured) as global president of Crawford Legal Services.
As global president, Spencer is responsible for operational delivery, strategy and growth within the legal sector. He will lead Crawford’s efforts to deliver bundled and unbundled legal services for the company’ clients on a global scale. Spencer will report to Crawford president Joseph Blanco.
“This appointment is a testament to the quality of talent we have within our organization,” said Blanco. “As Crawford looks to reimagine and declutter both the insurance and legal ecosystems, I am certain that Jason will create value for our clients by cultivating Crawford’s legal service offerings around the world in support of our purpose to restore and enhance lives, businesses and communities.”
Spencer joined Crawford in 2016 from private practice to establish Crawford Legal Services in the UK. After the successful launch of the UK legal business, he played a critical role in the company’s acquisition of HBA Group in Australia. He is also developing the company’s legal capability in a number of other territories, especially since the recent acquisition of Crawford Carvallo in Chile.
Before joining Crawford, Spencer held multiple leadership roles. He served as a senior partner with national and international law firms, and as a leader in the development and launch of legal and business solutions.
“The opportunity exists for a connected local and global legal service offering. Crawford is already a leader in many of the existing and targeted growth territories, and legal services share the same sales channels and market entry points as the wider Crawford business,” commented Spencer. “Offering a range of bundled and unbundled legal services forms a significant part of our diversification strategy and supports our goal to be the embedded partner of choice for our clients.”
