Brick walls are no match for Rick Messier of Paisley Manor Insurance Brokers. At least, that must be what it feels like for the North York VP for Business Development.
In essence, Messier says, the secret of his success is “Consistency. Never giving up; its hearing a “no” year one; hearing a “no” year two; and by year eight it’s a “yes.”
It’s a never give up attitude that Messier strives to imbue in all his salespeople: “you don’t make the sale year one, and then give up and drop it and move on -- you consistently follow up on a yearly and quarterly basis.”
And it is this consistency that Messier feels demonstrates his mettle to clients, after all, as he says, “Insurance is 100% relationships based.”
“It’s all about trust and integrity and if you can show that to a client year in year out -- or to a prospect, year in year out, you’ll likely get a shot at something.”
Messier is no stranger to winning, having coached the Ontario under 9 Baseball champions from 2012 to 2014. He also keeps himself busy with his own Vodka bar that he’s owned since 2007.
