Ontario home and auto insurance company The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group announced yesterday that it had completed its community donations to registered charitable organizations in 2016.
In total, the insurer donated $534,069.02, which was distributed to charities across Ontario through the company’s Create A Ripple Effect (CARE) program, which “helps to fund vital charitable organizations in the Ontario communities that [the insurer] serves.”

The following are some of the insurer’s most notable donations:
“Our C.A.R.E. program is part of our heritage here at The Commonwell and is a cornerstone of who we are. The C.A.R.E. program generates many success stories that we’re extremely proud of,” said The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group president and CEO Tim Shauf. “We’re excited to continue the C.A.R.E. legacy in 2017 and would issue a challenge to all other Ontario businesses to step up and find meaningful ways to support our local communities.”
Since The Commonwell’s founding in 2014, its CARE program has donated more than $1.7 million to a variety of local organizations.
