CNA has appointed Sean Deakin as vice-president, national manager of surety in Canada.
As vice-president, Deakin will be responsible for underwriting strategy by overseeing the surety business across the country, while also directing underwriting and coordinating surety product marketing activities. Deakin will also ensure that the company’s strategy and operational objectives are accomplished, including the servicing of cross-border business for US branches, a release said.
Deakin, who will be based in Toronto, will report to CNA vice-president of surety international Mike Groman.
“Sean’s industry experience and proven track record of developing high-performing teams, combined with his outstanding collaboration, and strong leadership skills, make him a well-suited addition to CNA,” Groman said in a statement. “He will make an excellent steward of our efforts in capitalizing on opportunities and promoting the CNA Surety brand across the country.”
