CNA Canada has announced the appointment of Luke Mellors (pictured) as vice president of information technology.
In this role, Mellors will spearhead the transformation and modernization of CNA’s IT functions to support business growth across Canada.
He will be focused on leading the discovery of modern efficiencies, while helping drive business growth and seamless solutions through collaboration, a press release said.
Mellors joins CNA with 27 years of IT experience, which includes time spent serving as the director of data technology and innovation services at a carrier company, as well as holding senior IT positions within several exclusive hotel groups.
In his most recent role, Mellors led large teams across multiple countries, overseeing various aspects of IT, including data services, analytics, IT strategy, business applications, innovation, data center management, and program delivery.
His track record also includes overseeing system implementations, establishing strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, and developing strategic roadmaps.
Commenting on the appointment, Greg Metcalfe, senior vice president and chief financial officer of CNA Canada, expressed confidence in Mellors’ leadership and said his diverse background will lead to “greater success and impact throughout the organization.”
“Luke's experience across insurance and other industries will continue to develop our Information Technology teams in Canada,” Metcalfe added. “We are thrilled for Luke to begin his leadership oversight in Canada. This new role will encourage broader collaboration and position us well to achieve our goals.”
Earlier this year, CNA Canada appointed Jamie Weston as head of risk control, which saw her taking charge of driving the organization’s strategic growth agenda for risk control in Canada. She has over 20 years of risk control experience and previously served as CNA’s risk control director for the northeast region in the US.
