CNA Canada has announced the appointment of Jamie Weston (pictured above) as the head of risk control in Canada.
Weston, who has been working as CNA’s risk control director for the northeast region in the US, will now work towards developing the risk control team in Canada to support the business’ growth aspirations.
As part of her new role, Weston will bring her extensive experience in field leadership to drive the strategic growth agenda for risk control in Canada. She will report to David Price, CNA Canada’s senior vice president and chief underwriting officer.
Commenting on Weston’s appointment, Price expressed his confidence in Weston’s leadership and said her experience with different regions and lines of business would lead to greater success across the risk control capabilities of CNA Canada.
“With Jamie's experience, leadership and collaboration I am confident that we are well-positioned to deliver valuable insights to our broker partners and their clients,” he said. “I am thrilled to have her join our Canadian team.”
Weston brings over two decades of risk control experience to her new role, having held various technical and leadership roles throughout her career. She started her career as a risk control trainee at CNA and later became an area manager for the property & casualty and equipment breakdown lines of global insurer Chubb. She returned to CNA in 2015 and assumed her current role as risk control director for the northeast region in the US.
News of Weston’s appointment comes after CNA Canada expanded the role of Dean Grigoruk, regional vice president of the Eastern Region.
In February, it was announced that Grigoruk’s expanded role would have him working closely with CNA’s teams in Canada, the US, and the UK to grow and develop the company’s international portfolio, as well as offering leadership oversight to the automobile team.
