Chubb has announced Matt Merna (pictured), who currently oversees Chubb's retail commercial property and casualty insurance businesses for large accounts in the US and Canada, will expand his role to the delivery of risk management solutions to major multinational clients located overseas effective immediately.
Merna will still lead North America's major accounts division while simultaneously helping Chubb's overseas teams design, structure, and implement risk management solutions for multinational corporations.
"Matt's leadership in helping guide North American clients across complex transactions and crafting risk management solutions makes him the ideal choice to take on these additional responsibilities," said Juan Luis Ortega, executive vice president, Chubb Group and president, North America insurance.
"Bringing the full scope of our capabilities through a global approach reinforces our commitment to delivering superior solutions in an increasingly complex risk landscape. Matt's deep expertise will add exceptional value to our global clients."
This extension is part of Chubb's continued investment in support of large multinational companies and ensuring that they have access to the best risk management tools Chubb can provide.
Merna has been part of Chubb since 2000 and has held different senior leadership positions, such as president of financial solutions and division president, risk management.
He also served as executive vice president, Chubb global casualty and chief operating officer for North America major accounts. Merna has close to 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.
"Matt has a distinct and proven ability to understand the priorities of our major clients, navigate the complexity of their needs, and present the very best of Chubb in providing solutions," said Paul McNamee, executive vice president, Chubb Group and president, overseas general insurance.
"I am delighted that Matt will be partnering with our teams across all five regions as we continue to build capabilities in this core segment for Chubb throughout the world."
