BOXX Insurance has announced three leadership appointments as the company continues to expand its operations.

Jonathan Weekes (pictured rightmost) has been named president of Canada, while Neal Jardine (pictured in the middle) takes on the role of chief cyber intelligence and claims officer. Phil Baker (pictured leftmost), previously president of BOXX Canada and chief underwriting officer, will now fully transition to the global CUO role, overseeing cyber underwriting strategy across all markets.

Weekes brings experience in cyber insurance and technology, having held roles at Aon, AIG, and Marsh before serving as senior vice president, cyber practice leader at HUB. In his new position, he will focus on growing BOXX’s Cyberboxx product suite and strengthening its presence among brokers, managing general agents (MGAs), and affinity partners in Canada.

"We are excited to have Jonathan on board to lead our Canadian business, and we are equally thrilled that Phil will now fully focus on our international expansion in his CUO role," said Vishal Kundi, CEO and co-founder of BOXX Insurance. "Phil's deep industry knowledge and respect in the market are pivotal as we continue to innovate our underwriting approach and increase our capacity to expand in the USA and beyond."

Baker, who has been with BOXX since 2018, has played a key role in shaping the company’s underwriting strategy and expanding its footprint in Canada. As global CUO, he will oversee underwriting operations across all markets.

Jardine, who joined BOXX in 2022 as head of cyber risk management, has been appointed chief cyber intelligence & claims officer. Since joining, he has contributed to the company’s PREDICT, PREVENT, and INSURE model, which uses real-time technology to help clients mitigate digital threats and respond to cyber incidents.

"I look forward to working with our global Presidents and executives to expand BOXX's reach internationally. Our proprietary technology and commitment to create real, positive changes for our clients and partners are making the digital world safer and simpler for businesses and families," said Jardine.

Kundi highlighted Jardine’s role in differentiating BOXX’s offerings through its Hackbusters team, which works to reduce clients’ risk exposure and manage cyber incident fallout. "I'm very excited about the innovation that we continue to bring to further enhance our approach to claims and cyber intelligence," he said.

Last year, BOXX Insurance appointed Christyn Yoast as BOXX USA president, while Hilario Itriago was named president for Latin America.

Yoast previously served as North American head of distribution and underwriting at Beazley USA, where she was involved in the company’s global API strategy. Meanwhile, Itriago, who played a key role in establishing BOXX in the US, will now focus on the company’s expansion into Latin America.
