Billyard Insurance Group (BIG) has announced the addition of Neil Rudd (pictured) to its board of directors.
Rudd joins BIG with over 36 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was previously chief operating officer and chief financial officer for NXT Capital, chief operating officer at Merrill Lynch Capital, and senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Heller Financial. He began his career at Price Waterhouse and has co-founded two successful businesses over the past two decades.
Presently, Rudd is the chief financial officer for California-based startup Palm Therapeutics. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
“I have been incredibly impressed by the high energy, entrepreneurial culture that the leadership team has built, the operational discipline they have instilled, and the exciting growth opportunity that exists for BIG,” said Rudd. “I am thrilled to join the board of directors and look forward to applying my experience to building an even brighter future for BIG and its customers.”
BIG CEO Stephen Billyard expressed optimism about Rudd’s appointment and praised him for his leadership experience.
“Neil’s leadership experience will provide BIG with unique perspectives and useful insights into how we can enhance our business and better serve Canadians,” he said. “I look forward to working with him and what the future brings.
COO Cody Douma echoed Billyard’s statement and said BIG is “extremely fortunate” to have Rudd on the board.
“His impressive career journey and knowledge will be instrumental in shaping BIG’s next chapter,” said Douma.
Rudd’s appointment comes as BIG continues to bolster its leadership team. In August, the brokerage added Bob Tisdale to its board of directors.
