Billyard Insurance Group (BIG) has announced the addition of Bob Tisdale to its board of directors.
Tisdale (pictured) is an industry veteran with over four decades of experience in insurance. Before retiring in 2020, he was president and chief operating officer for Pembridge Insurance Company and Pafco Insurance Company.
He has also received several designations, including Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), Canadian Risk Manager (CRM), and Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D).
Following his retirement, Tisdale has remained an active industry member, serving as a part-time professor, advisor, and board member for several prominent companies.
In a press release, BIG CEO Stephen Billyard said Tisdale’s addition to the board of directors is an “exciting moment” for the brokerage.
“Bob brings extensive experience, leadership, and a deep-rooted understanding of the industry that will undoubtedly elevate the firm and drive our company forward,” said Billyard. “We are thrilled to welcome him aboard and look forward to his contributions.”
COO Cody Douma said his addition to the board will strengthen BIG’s position as a “forward-thinking industry leader.”
“His guidance will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future endeavours and ensure we are doing everything we can to provide the best insurance experience to Canadian consumers,” said Douma.
Tisdale also commented on his recent appointment and said he was excited to join BIG.
“I am looking forward to assisting BIG to grow profitably, becoming a dominant and respected broker brand across Canada,” he said.
News of Tisdale’s appointment comes after BIG expanded its Ontario presence with three new branches in the Greater Toronto Area. These branches are in Markham East, Port Credit, and Eglinton Square.
