Aviva’s Community Fund (ACF) is marking its 10th anniversary this year with another charitable funding contest – and the insurer has now opened its latest contest for people to vote.
Once again, the ACF will donate more than $1 million to fund charitable initiatives in communities across the country. The ACF competition has two phases: ideas for charitable initiatives are first submitted and selected, and then the chosen initiatives are then put up for voting by the public to determine the winners.
For this round, Canadians will have from September 25 to October 04 to vote for a charitable initiative. Each person will be provided with 10 votes to cast that they can distribute however they like – they can choose 10 different initiatives or pour all votes into one project, for instance.
In total, 60 initiatives will be selected through public vote and funded by ACF.
Two categories for voting have been opened:
“For the last 10 years, the Aviva Community Fund has opened the competition for online voting because we strongly believe Canadians who live, work, and play in these communities should decide which ideas win funding,” said Aviva Canada president and CEO Colm Holmes. “We’re proud to fund and celebrate moments – big and small – that bring people together. I encourage all Canadians to get involved in their communities and help a good cause by voting for their favourite ideas today.”
This round of voting is the second for this year; in August, Aviva accepted submissions for 100 charitable initiatives which would each win funding of $1,000.
