In addition to these major charitable initiatives, 50 smaller projects were also recognized and chosen to each receive $10,000.
Aviva Canada brokers also participated in the action, nominating and voting for a charitable initiative of their choice that would receive $5,000. This year’s winner for the broker-supported idea category is Autism Speaks Canada’s Connect program, a free-to-use online platform that allows the autism community to easily disseminate and access support and educational tools.
“Congratulations to all our Aviva Community Fund winners,” said Aviva Canada president and CEO Colm Holmes in a statement. “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, under the theme of bringing people together, we couldn’t be more proud to support ideas – big and small – that will have a lasting impact in their local communities.”
