APOLLO Exchange is celebrating after being recognized by Insurance Business Canada as Digital Innovator of the Year during the publication’s fourth annual Insurance Business Canada Awards last week.
The online insurance marketplace managed to secure the award against eleven other nominees.
“It’s an absolute honour for the APOLLO team to be recognized in this way,” said APOLLO CEO Jeff McCann in a statement. “We’re proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish with our partners in such a short period of time, and this recognition means a lot to our young company. We look forward to what 2020 will bring.”
McCann himself was nominated for the CEO of the Year Award, which ultimately went to Lynn Oldfield, CEO of AIG Canada.
Winners of the awards were determined by a panel of industry experts, and then revealed during the awards gala, which saw more than 550 insurance professionals attend. Twenty-one (21) winners were selected this year, one for each category such as Best Advertising Campaign, Best Service Provider, Young Gun of the Year, Woman of Distinction, MGA of the Year, and so on.
The CEO of the Year Award, presented in partnership with Lowestrates.ca, made its debut this year.
“We’re so thrilled with the list of finalists,” said Insurance Business managing editor Paul Lucas. “We were inundated with nominations and we feel this is truly a snapshot of the best and brightest in the Canadian insurance industry right now.”
