As it looks to bolster its global renewables network, Aon has announced two new offshore wind hires.
The brokerage giant has brought in Ray Spreadbury and Sarah Burston as executive director and direct, respectively, within the offshore wind team of its Global Broking Centre (GBC). The duo is set to be based in London and report to the Power team, which is headed by James MacNeal.
Spreadbury, who takes his role immediately, has nearly three decades of industry experience. He is making the jump from Marsh, where he was global head – renewable energy, and has held senior positions at a host of top firms.
Meanwhile, Burston will join the business in mid-April having previously served as a risk manager in local government. It’s not her first stint at Aon, as she was an enterprise risk management senior consultant for Aon Global Risk Consulting previously.
“The renewables industry is a key focus for us, with our offering underpinned by market-leading technical and specialty capabilities,” said MacNeal. “These include risk engineering, contract review, broking and claims advocacy and alternative risk finance solutions, all of which help clients navigate and outperform in the face of managing risk and complexity.
“As evidenced by recent appointments, we are continuing to build a resilient and talented team that can deliver the full depth of Aon’s capabilities to our clients. I am very pleased to welcome Ray and Sarah to the team and am confident their breadth and wealth of expertise will prove invaluable as we continue to strengthen our renewable energy proposition globally.”
