Aon has announced that its representations and warranties insurance practice, part of its M&A and Transaction Solutions business, has expanded its team with the addition of M&A insurance veteran Julia Papastravridis and four M&A attorneys: Matthew Edwards, Sandrine Emmanuel, Jerald Khoo, and John Kramp.
The appointments follow the installation in December of a Transaction Solutions leadership team composed of Gary Blitz, Allyson Coyne, Stephen Davidson, Jill Kerxtron and Matthew Wiener.
Papastravridis joins the company as a managing director and will be based in New York City. Prior to joining Aon, she served as a senior transactional risk insurance broker at Willis Towers Watson. She has also served as a representations and warranties insurance underwriter at AIG and Everest. Prior to joining the insurance industry, Papastravridis was a corporate M&A associate at the law firms Kramer Levin and Dentons.
Edwards, also based in New York, joins Aon as a vice president. Prior to joining the company, he was an M&A associate in the private equity transactions practice of law firm Ropes & Gray. He previously served as a corporate associate at Winston & Strawn.
Emmanuel will be based in Toronto. She joins Aon from law firm Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg, where she focused on corporate securities law. In that position, she worked on a variety of large transactions, including initial public offerings, shareholder buyouts, and public and private mergers and acquisitions.
Khoo will be based in New York and joins Aon as a vice president from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where he spent five years as an attorney in the M&A group and represented public and private companies, private equity firms and financial institutions. Khoo also has experience in public company M&A, restructurings, joint ventures, investments and other corporate transactions.
Kramp will be based in Chicago. He joins Aon after a seven-year law career, most recently at Katten Muchin Rosenman, where he practices M&A and healthcare law. In that position, he advised clients on structure and corporate law issues in healthcare transactions, including private equity acquisitions of physician practices, hospital acquisitions and joint ventures.
“We are delighted to welcome Julia, Matt, Sandrine, Jerald and John to the team as we continue to lead the industry in innovation and further grow the transactions solutions business,” said Gary Blitz, co-CEO of Aon’s M&A and Transaction Solutions and leader of the Transaction Solutions practice. “Our solutions have become core parts of M&A, demonstrated by our ability to attract professionals with such impeccable credentials and backgrounds. The addition to the team of these new colleagues also demonstrates Aon’s commitment to maintaining our industry-leading position and first-rate execution capabilities for our clients, as well as our commitment to bringing colleagues with diverse backgrounds, voices and perspectives to further drive unique thought and innovation.”
