On Thursday, Allstate Canada announced the winners of its third annual Allstate Canada Community Hero program.

Launched in 2014, the program was created to recognise the insurer’s agents who served as both leaders and role models in their respective communities, having helped produce outcomes that have reinforced social ties among the people.

Those nominated for the award were agents from Allstate Canada Agencies across the country who have undertaken charitable work in 2015. The winner is selected by a committee.

Ray Eady won the Community Hero award for the second year in a row for his community involvement in Cornwall and its surrounding area.

“It is a huge accomplishment to win this award once – to win this award twice speaks to the valuable contribution Eady continues to make in his community,” said Allstate Insurance Company of Canada vice president of Allstate Brand Marcelo Regen. “He distinguishes himself through his leadership and ability to motivate others to action.”

Eady became President of the Kinsmen Club of Cornwall in 2015. Under his leadership, the organisation helped expand the reach of many charitable initiatives and continued to better the lives of the local community.

According to The Cornwall Seeker, the Kinsmen Club under Eady helped organise three fundraisers—Bikers Against Brain Cancer, Children’s Christmas Fund, and an annual pizza party—all to great success. The publication also noted Eady’s local popularity in Cornwall, who makes it a point to appear in every community event regardless of the role he plays in them.

For winning the Community Hero program, Allstate Canada will donate $2,000 to Eady’s charity of choice in the Cornwall area.
