Allianz Global Assistance Canada has announced Kyle Sparkman (pictured) as its new managing director and head of Allianz in Canada. Sparkman succeeds Chris Van Kooten, who left the company in October 2024.

Sparkman has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, the Press release noted. He joined Allianz in 2019. He has since held pivotal roles, including chief operating officer and chief sales officer, where he led operational transformations, introduced innovative customer-focused applications, and modernized claims and medical assistance systems.

“We are excited to announce the promotion of Kyle,” said Jeff Wright, managing director for North America and chairman of Allianz Global Assistance. “Over the last five years, Kyle has been an integral part of our leadership team and will continue driving our Canadian strategy forward. I’m confident Allianz will continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers, partners, and employees.”

Before joining Allianz, Sparkman held senior leadership roles at the Bank of Montreal, where he honed his skills in business strategy development, innovation, and team empowerment.

“I am honoured to lead Allianz Global Assistance Canada and look forward to collaborating with our talented team to deliver exceptional value to our customers and partners,” said Sparkman. “Together, we will build on our strong foundation to achieve new heights of success in the Canadian market.”

Allianz Global Assistance has provided travel insurance and assistance services to Canadians and visitors for over 35 years. The company works with partners in the broker, travel, and financial services sectors to deliver its offerings. Allianz Global Assistance operates as a specialist brand under Allianz Partners.
