Lloyd’s managing agent AEGIS London has hired a new claims manager for its Canadian coverholders.
Carrie Trudeau (pictured) will be based in Toronto, where she will “focus on strengthening relationships with London market brokers” while supporting the company’s coverholders writing property and other lines of business in Canada, a release said.
Trudeau will work with – and eventually replace – Spencer Shusterman, who has announced his decision to retire from his position as senior vice-president of claims at the end of this year. Shusterman has cultivated a seven-year career with AEGIS London.
With 18 years of insurance experience, Trudeau was most recently director of Lloyd’s and dedicated units at Crawford & Company (Canada). She began her career with Markel, managing to rise to the position of senior claims examiner before joining Crawford & Company as client services manager in 2008.
She is recognized as a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional and Canadian Risk Manager.
“Carrie is a great addition to our team in Canada. Her knowledge of the market, particularly with regard to claims, will build on the great work done by Spencer Shusterman,” said AEGIS London head of claims Richard Foulger. “By working closely with our London brokers, Carrie will help raise our profile in Canada while providing first rate service.”
A release noted that AEGIS London Services Canada has more delegated binding authorities in Canada than any other Lloyd’s syndicate.
