Acera Insurance Services (Acera) has expanded its operations in central Alberta by inking a deal with Rushton Agencies.
Rushton Agencies is an independent brokerage that has been working with individuals, farmers, and businesses across Stettler, Alberta, for over 100 years.
The deal, which closed on June 30, expands Acera's operations in central Alberta – adding to its teams in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake. It will see Rushton Agencies fully transition to Acera in the coming months.
Bruce Rabik, chief operating officer of Acera, welcomed Rushton Agencies to the team. The move reinforces the business’ commitment to strengthen the independent brokerage model across Canada, Rabik said.
“The longevity of Rushton Agencies demonstrates that Canadians deeply value working with a local independent brokerage that puts their best interests first,” Rabik said.
Steve Babcock, president of Rushton Agencies, said: “We have worked diligently to find the right partner for this exciting evolution of Rushton Agencies.
“Joining Acera Insurance offers our clients the best of both worlds – Stettler maintains a local, independent brokerage and dedicated community partner and gains greater access to markets and insurance products.”
Early this year, Acera merged its operations with Fairfield Watson, an employee benefits, retirement, and insurance consulting firm.
