Acera Insurance Services is continuing its expansion in Ontario by partnering with Kingston-based Dorey & Tolgyesi Insurance Brokers. The collaboration represents Acera Insurance’s fourth deal in Ontario this year, following alliances with KRS Insurance Brokers, Green Benefits Group, and Dominion Group Benefits.
Bruce Rabik (pictured), chief operating officer of Acera Insurance, expressed pride in the company’s distinctive position in the market, saying: “As a wholly independent and Canadian-owned brokerage, Acera Insurance is proud to stand out as a viable alternative to foreign investors and insurance company-owned aggregators.
“We are pleased to welcome partners like Dorey & Tolgyesi who are not willing to sacrifice independence in their pursuit of growth.”
Dorey & Tolgyesi, the biggest independent brokerage in Kingston, also operates a second office in Bath. Co-founder Ernie Tolgyesi has consistently upheld the importance of a local independent broker channel since the firm’s inception over 15 years ago.
Tolgyesi said: “Acera Insurance is defending the true Canadian brokerage option. While looking to grow, I also wanted to preserve real choice and impartial solutions for the people and businesses of Kingston and our surrounding communities. This made Acera Insurance a perfect partner.”
The partnership with Dorey & Tolgyesi was finalized on June 1, with plans for the firm to eventually transition under the Acera Insurance brand.
Acera Insurance now has offices in Aurora, Bath, Brampton, Burlington, Hamilton, Huntsville, Kingston, London, Newmarket, Ottawa, and Welland.
